Egypt’s agricultural exports rose 13.9 pct in first 9 months of 2017

Iran exports macaroni wheat to Italy for the first time

Iran airlifts cattle from France to boost meat suppliers

Kenya faces maize deficit after long drought, pest invasion

Russia to export meat, ice cream to Morocco

October 11, 2017 - According to the Agriculture Ministry, Russia plans to expand exports of its agricultural products to Morocco, and will export not just wheat, but meat, ice cream, and other products as well. Russia will remain one of the major suppliers of soft wheat to Morocco. In 2016, the country exported 735,000 tons of wheat worth U.S. $116 million to Morocco, with a combined export of agricultural products rising 50% to $530 million in the year. Read More – Po & Po


EU wheat prices fall as Egypt opts for Russian supplies

October 10, 2017 - European wheat futures fell to the lowest levels in nearly three weeks as a firm euro exacerbated an already difficult export outlook amid stiff competition from the Black Sea region. Iran wants to launch meat processing plant in Eastern Kazakhstan

October 9, 2017 - Iranian investors are keen to launch a meat processing project in eastern Kazakhstan. The new meat-processing enterprise will be built on the territory of the Ondiris industrial zone in Semey and offer a lot of new jobs. Egyptian Agricultural Banks signs contract with MSMEs for EGP 250m

October 8, 2017 - El Sayed El Kosayer, the chairperson of the Egyptian Agricultural Bank (EAB), signed a contract with Nevine El Gamea, the chairperson of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSME) to obtain EGP 250m worth of financing. Saudi Arabia's SALIC considers Russian grain investment

October 5, 2017 - Saudi Arabia's SALIC is considering investing in a Russian grain producer owned by Russian conglomerate Sistema and members of the Louis-Dreyfus family. Saudi Arabia began scaling back its domestic wheat-growing programme in 2008, planning to rely completely on imports by 2016 to save water. Russia, one of the world’s top grain exporters, is expected to harvest a record grain crop in 2017. Read More – Reuters


Turkey to launch tomato exports to Russia in late 2017

October 4, 2017 - Russia is ready to take a first step which will hopefully lead to the full resumption of Turkey’s tomato exports to the Russian market. Deliveries of Turkish tomatoes in the amount of 50,000-60,000 tons to Russia will begin in the end of 2017. Read More – Azer News
