Julphar Gulf Pharmaceutical eyes $544m sales by 2020
UAE-based pharmaceuticals giant Julphar has announced plans to expand its sales to more than AED2 billion ($544 million) by 2020. Julphar Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries announced the target as it said it achieved sales amounting to AED369.3 million with a net profit of AED44.1 million in the first quarter of 2017.

CURE Pharmaceutical, a leading disruptive drug delivery technology and pharmaceutical cannabinoid molecule development company, announced today that the CURE and the CannaKids partnership has entered into a strategic research collaboration with Technion Research and Development Foundation Ltd., wholly owned subsidiary of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, in order to research how different cannabinoid compounds within cannabis strains can be used to treat various subtypes of cancer.
Boryung Pharm wins $37.7 million contract in Africa
Boryung Pharmaceuticals signed an exclusive $37.7-million supply contract with South African pharmaceutical company Kiara Health to provide its high-blood pressure drugs to 10 African countries. The deal comes as a new addition to the company’s list of license-out contracts in a total of 51 countries amounting to $413.6 million. Boryung signed an export agreement with Kiara Health in December to supply three of its injectable anticancer drugs in the same 10 African countries.

Mediclinic Middle East Concludes Agreement with Foundation Holdings
Strategic global investment firm Foundation Holdings announced today the formation of a new healthcare platform aiming to accelerate value-based healthcare in the UAE. To kick start this initiative, the company has collaborated and transacted a deal with Mediclinic Middle East, one of three operating platforms at Mediclinic International plc, a UK listed international private healthcare group, to acquire three best in class value-care primary clinics, one each in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Dubai as well as one pharmacy in Abu Dhabi.
